Apple just announced latest product, drum roll please… the iPad Mini. As the name suggests, it’s a smaller version of the iPad tablet with a screen that measures 7.9 inches. Apparently it “isn’t just a shrunken-down iPad, it’s an entirely new design.”
The iPad Mini comes in both black and white, the screen has a resolution of 1024 x 768 (it has the same resolution as the original iPad and iPad 2) with a 4:3 aspect ratio, which gives it a size advantage over it’s 7-inch competitors. It is only 7.2mm thick with an aluminum shell, which makes it 53 percent lighter and significantly thinner than the 4th generation iPad.

The iPad mini has a fast dual-core Apple A5 processor, optional LTE, a 5-megapixel iSight camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, the new Lightning connector. Apple also claim that the iPad Mini will have an amazing 10-hour battery life. Basically, this is a giant, new generation iPod touch, with a bigger screen.
We’re not complaining though, as an iPod Touch beats many phones with it’s class leading browser and nearly 250,000 apps but only time will tell if this will be a market beater. We have a feeling it will!
