Samsung and Google have just sent out invites for an event scheduled in Hong Kong for 19th October. The invite has a tasty image of an ice cream covered treat in a shape of a droid giving signals of the launch of Ice Cream Sandwich, Google’s upgrade of Android OS.
The event was originally planned for this week at CTIA but was apparently postponed due to the death Steve Jobs. There a is also a rumour the event was cancelled because of some patent wrangles, so Google and Samsung had to re-tweak Ice Cream Sandwich before launch.
Since Samsung are also at the event, a release of a phone is imminent. Sammy most probably will announce the next installation of the Nexus, the Galaxy Nexus or the Nexus Prime as we have known it since the early wave of rumours.
With the release of the iPhone 4S this is a perfect time to create some real competition. So get ready to watch the live stream at www.youtube.com/android @ 10AM Hong Kong time (2AM GMT).
