Sony Ericsson have finally begun rolling out a firmware update to the first ‘Playstation Certified’ phone. A surprise inclusion in the build is the ability to record video in 720p and the quality isn’t so bad as seen in a video courtesy of a thread over at XDA Forums.
Xperia PLAY firmware is updated to build number 4.0.1.A.0.283 bringing 2.3.4 goodness. The Ginderbread update brings Google video chat, a swype keyboard, a new 3D panorama camera feature, screen capture, further enhancements to Facebook and better battery life.
Remember to update through the PC companion as flashing you phone with the new firmware may void your warranty.
